I came to Shady Grove emergency room in Germantown Maryland because I had hurt my right leg and I couldn't believe they threw me in a room with no TV it look like a room like a dungeon or something. And what was so unbelievable about is that I counted at least six rooms that I saw available with TVs remind you this room was for criminals basically yeah criminals. When I asked the nurse about it he was saying some BS about the other rooms were four other things oh so you just put a person in a room with no TV looks like a just a big dungeon he couldn't answer that but I said I was going to let everybody know about it.

If I could give this hospital a negative rating I would. The only good thing about this hospital was my emergency room nurse. I was brought in by ambulance with cardiac issues. I have a cardiac history. I passed out because I went into heart block and my blood pressure dropped extremely low. The emergency room physician and the on call cardiologist were two of the most arrogant, pompous, ignorant people I have ever met. Neither of them listened to a word I said nor could they have cared less about me and my health. If you would like to live, then I highly recommend going to any other hospital. This was the worst emergency room visit that I have ever had.

I came in 2 nights ago, for the 5th time in the past 3 weeks for the same exact pain. The last 3 times they didn't give me an ultrasound or any pain medication even though my pain was in my uterus. A nurse came in and put an iv in my arm, moved it around so much while it was clearly drawing blood and flushing fine, she moved it inside of my arm a couple times then yanked it out. After that, she poked my hand and put the iv in my hand horribly. I have giant bruises on my arm and hand from how harsh she was and I never bruise due to an IV. After FINALLY having studies made, they discovered I had a 7.8 Cm cyst on my left ovary that supposedly "wasn't there the last ultrasound that they did 3 weeks ago". It doesn't just pop up fyi. They finally helped me after a couple attempts, not to mention how harsh Dr.Sherril was pretty harsh with the pelvic exam but was very sweet throughout the whole process. The only reason I'm giving this 3 stars, is because Beverly the ultrasound lady has been nothing but a complete sweetheart. That lady has done all of my ultrasounds and has made me feel extremely comfortable having a transvaginal and regular ultrasound. She's always worried about how I'm feeling, making sure I'm warm enough and her voice is so sweet. She deserves a raise big time!! I love her so much and hopefully she continues to be my ultrasound tech for the remainder of times I visit this facility.

I brought my 3 year old daughter here after contacting the emergency hotline for her pediatrician. We suspected that her elbow was dislocated and came to get looked at by a doctor. He ran x-rays and said they found nothing and diagnosed her with a contusion to the elbow. When I took my daughter to her pediatrician today because she still would not use the arm it was found that her elbow was dislocated. My baby has walked around for 2 days now with her elbow dislocated. Not to even mention we were there for almost 3 1/2 hours and then sent home without even being treated. If your thinking of going to this emergency because it's close and convenient DONT!

I love that this place is so close to my house. I have been here numerous times and always found the staff to be concerned and helpful. My only "issue" is that I tend to need to use their services way too much...but that is not their fault. :)
